Bios Jean M. Muller Ms. Muller is the president of an independent management and human resources consulting firm. Here she helps leaders prepare their organizations for tomorrow's business challenges. A key focus of the business is maximizing the potential in change initiatives and enterprise renewal. She works with clients to build results oriented HR practices and provides professional coaching to HR executives and other senior leaders. Her professional experience includes executive level positions as VP of HR for Index Technology and Director, Corporate Planning for Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA. Ms. Muller is a leading advocate for military executives in corporate America. Ms. Muller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Northeastern University and completed a Practicum in Organizational Development. She is a member of the Northeast Human Resource Association and presented for this organization on several occasions, most recently in 2002 on HR as an Executive Partner: How to get There and How to Stay There. Richard P. Liblong Mr. Liblong is certified by the International Association of Career Management Professionals as a Certified Management Practitioner who has worked in career management since 1996. He has worked in both retail and corporate career management firms and as an independent consultant. Mr. Liblong is a dynamic presenter and excels in facilitating group workshops. He has also developed numerous workshops and other materials on such topics as Career Focus, Executive Image, Telephone Techniques - Reaching the Decision Makers, Networking, Interview Skills, “Rousing Resume” preparation, Offer Negotiation and Managing Your Career After You Land. It is estimated that he has taught or counseled more than 1000 people in career transition in all walks of life including private industry, not-for-profit institutions, retiring military personnel and retiring government personnel. This includes all levels and pay grades. Mr. Liblong spent twenty years with The Dow Chemical Company as a communications manager and came to Washington to be a press secretary to a U.S. Senator. When the Senator retired, Rick was Director of Public Affairs for OSHA. Leaving government in 1995, Rick became President and Chairman of the Board of Forty-Plus of Greater Washington. He is living proof that you can switch careers and prosper. Rick holds a degree in Communication Arts from Michigan State University. Margaret M. O’Brien Ms. O’Brien has been working as a Human Resources Consultant for companies analyzing their people practices, and educating managers to enhance their effectiveness in managing employees. Ms. O‘Brien is an experienced human resource professional with and extensive background in the lodging industry, most recently for various Marriott companies. She has managed recruitment, employee relations, and security. She has also coached managers and senior leaders regarding the implications of company policies and practices. Patricia Summers M.Ed., C.R.C. Ms. Summers is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Officer. She is a 1976 cum laude graduate of the State University College at Cortland, Cortland, New York, majoring in teacher education with a minor in Psychology. She has a Master’s of Education degree from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia in Counseling and Development, awarded May 1999. Ms. Summers was hired as a counselor by George Moore & Associates, Inc., on June 1, 1999. Since then Ms. Summers has played a pivotal role at GM&A in the design and development of two pilot programs, Rehabilitation and Employment Assistance Program (REAP), and Executive Transition Career Counseling (ETCC) that have been widely accepted by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Washington Regional Office. Ms. Summers’ role in our ETCC program is to provide detailed guidance to transitioning executives on resume` construction and networking. Her work has been described by ETCC clients as substantive, and was key to obtaining desired job interviews and employment. With the Veterans Administration’s recognition that employment is the dominant concern for most veterans making their transition to civilian life, our emphasis on the activities built into our ETCC program have proven quite successful. In her role as counselor Pat has provided the counseling services necessary, to include aptitude testing and interest inventories, that enables the service member or veteran to select educational and vocational objectives. She also assists the executive service member to identify the means through which these objectives will be achieved. Her counseling aids the service member and their family to cope with personal problems, which might interfere with the successful achievement of their vocational objectives. Ms. Summers’ attentive counseling style helps the individual in the development of a viable employment plan. |
